Bridge Builders in Unity is an independent charity working in the London Borough Newham. It is open to young people from the age of eight to 22 from every background and culture.

Bridge Builders aim to promote equality and diversity for the public benefit of young people through improved cohesion and community leadership by

(a) advancing education and raising awareness in equality and diversity and

(b) promoting activities to foster understanding and respect between young people from different cultures and nationalities.

Activities include:
* Face-to-face counselling
* Group Workshops
* Visits to historic and cultural venues
* The staging of public events such as debates on safety in our borough, relations with the police, the commemoration of victims of the 7/7 London bombings, and the relevance and meaning of religious festivals like Christmas, Diwali, Eid and Vaisakhi.

Bridge Builders was founded in 2004 by Sri Lanka born Gowri Thamotharampillai, a former civil servant with the Charity Commission. Gowri lives in Newham.
