THE REAL MEANING OF VAISAKHI

Vaisakhi is a long established harvest festival in the Punjab.  It is also one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar, marking the Sikh New Year.  In addition, Vaisakhi commemorates 1699, the year Sikhism was born as a collective faith.

To mark the festival, Bridge Builders in association with the Ramgarhia Gurdwara, celebrated The Real Meaning of Vaisakhi at the Dashmesh Darbar Gurdwara, Manor Park.  The colourful event was attended by multi-faith leaders, police, politicians, volunteers from a global exchange programme – and many young people.
